Why I chose Centrica: From a personal development perspective, I wanted to train towards an ACA, and the Centrica Finance grad programme is one of the few that allows you to study towards the ACA in industry. I’ve always been interested in the Energy sector, and I was excited by the challenges that Centrica faced.
What I enjoy most about my work: It’s fast-paced and there is no routine, which keeps things interesting.
Highlight of the grad scheme so far: It’s difficult to be specific as a lot of the work the M&A team does is confidential, but the disposals target of £500m is a key plank in the Group’s strategy and it’s been really cool to work on projects that are delivering this.
Advice to applicants: Centrica is a genuinely collegiate environment, during the interviews and assessment centres your interviewers aren’t trying to catch you out - they want you to do well! Be confident and prepared to challenge!
