Project Overview
Whitegate Power Station is a major gas‑fired power plant owned by Bord Gáis Energy, located in County Cork, Ireland.
Commissioned in 2010, the station can generate up to 445 megawatts of electricity, making it capable of supplying around 10% of Ireland’s electricity demand at times. It uses natural gas to produce electricity efficiently and reliably, playing an important role in keeping the Irish power system secure, particularly during periods of high demand or when renewable generation is low.
