Project Overview
Rolleston Solar Park is located at Rolleston Park Farm near Burton-on-Trent in Staffordshire. Developed in partnership with Push Power Ltd, the site became operational in 2026 and forms part of Centrica's growing portfolio of renewable energy assets supporting the UK's transition to a lower-carbon energy system.
The solar farm spans approximately 70 acres and comprises more than 29,000 solar panels. With a generating capacity of 18MW, it is expected to produce enough renewable electricity to power around 6,200 homes each year, helping to deliver cleaner, more secure and affordable energy.
Rolleston Solar Park builds on Centrica's successful collaboration with Push Power Ltd following the development of Codford Solar Farm in Wiltshire. The project is part of Centrica's wider £4 billion investment programme to support the UK energy transition through renewable generation and flexible energy infrastructure.
Why is solar important?
Solar farms are important to the energy transition because they provide clean, low‑carbon electricity at scale, helping to replace fossil‑fuel generation and cut emissions. They can be built relatively quickly, increase home‑grown energy supply, and support energy security. When combined with storage and flexible generation, solar helps create a more resilient electricity system as renewable power increases.
