Iain Conn named as a leader for LGBT inclusion

OUTstanding names Iain Conn as a Top 30 Ally Executive in LGBT leadership

We are delighted that our Chief Executive, Iain Conn was today named in the Financial Times as one of the Top 30 Ally Executives in the 2016 OUTstanding Leading LGBT+ & Ally Executives and LGBT+ Future Leaders Lists.

Iain has helped to set the right tone on all aspects of diversity & inclusion (D&I) at Centrica, including the goals of ensuring a diverse workforce, an inclusive culture and fully meritocratic processes. He has spoken about D&I and the LGBT agenda openly, and has been a sponsor and mentor of LGBT individuals within the organisation, helping to develop their confidence and authenticity. He is just as supportive of the LGBT community outside Centrica and, under his sponsorship, we are now working with OUTstanding to improve the understanding of LGBT+ issues throughout the most senior levels of our company.

CEO and founder of OUTstanding, Suki Sandhu said:

“Large corporations have the power and influence to promote LGBT+ inclusion and pave the way for real societal change around the world. By recognising the impact of those who are leading the charge, the OUTstanding Leading LGBT+ & Ally Executives and LGBT+ Future Leaders Lists continue to inspire both businesses and individuals to drive LGBT+ equality forward.

OUTstanding exists to challenge the assumption that you cannot be out and successful in business, to create role models that will inspire the next generation of business leaders and to encourage companies to use their far reaching voices for good.”
