Centrica's comment on the UK general election result.
Commenting on the election result, Iain Conn, CEO of Centrica plc said:
"Now that David Cameron has been confirmed as Prime Minister, we look forward to working constructively with his Government.
"We welcome the certainty and continuity provided by the clear result of the election. Our immediate plan is to engage with the new Government on the functioning of the energy market which is already being investigated by the Competition and Markets Authority.
"A well-functioning energy market is vital to the nation and to the competitiveness of Europe. Above all, we believe that the energy market has to function in the best way possible for customers."
