Centrica notes the publication by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) of its Updated Issues Statement, as part of the ongoing energy market investigation.

Centrica fully supports the investigation and believes that this comprehensive review, by the UK’s primary competition and consumer authority, could help rebuild trust in the market for customers, investors, and other stakeholders.

We continue to engage constructively with the CMA process, which began in June 2014 and is expected to conclude in December 2015. Today’s Issues Statement sets out the Authority’s initial thinking based on its analysis so far and we will be reviewing the contents and the supporting papers in detail in due course. The inquiry has not yet reached any firm conclusions, and in the meantime we believe it is important not to speculate on the final report or any possible remedies. We continue to focus on serving our customers and providing secure energy supplies for Britain’s homes and businesses.
