Centrica plc today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Energy America, LLC., has completed the acquisition of 212,000 natural gas customers of New Power Holdings, Inc. and its subsidiaries (NewPower) in Ohio and Pennsylvania. The transaction, announced on 15 July, was completed for a total acquisition cost of $23.2 million (£14.7 million), subject to adjustments to gas inventory and imbalance charges.
In addition to these customers, Energy America has also completed the acquisition of other specified assets, including gas inventory and certain computer systems relating to the customers being acquired.
