Centrica has announced the appointment of two senior leaders into newly created roles, strengthening the leadership team and bringing greater focus on delivering for customers and driving the energy transition.
Ulrika Wising joins as a Managing Director of Centrica Power, responsible for developing and operating a pipeline of flexible energy assets, and Gary Booker joins as Chief Customer Officer, playing a critical role in strengthening the voice of the customer across Centrica and driving growth.
Gary has extensive experience in marketing and consumer roles joining Centrica from Rentokil Initial, where he was Chief Marketing, Innovation & Strategy Officer. Previously, Gary was Chief Executive Officer of Selinon, and held Chief Marketing Officer roles at O2 and Dixons Carphone in the UK and Electronic Arts in the USA. Gary holds a BSc. Honours degree in Business, Law and Psychology and an MBA in Strategic Marketing.

Ulrika, joins from Vallourec, a supplier of steel tubes to the energy industry, where her most recent role saw her launch Vallourec New Energies, and develop an innovative hydrogen storage solution Delphy. Prior to that, Ulrika spent nearly three years at Shell, most recently as Global VP of Customer Solutions. Ulrika was previously Head of Solar and Battery storage for Macquarie and obtained a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Chalmers University in Sweden.

The key to the energy transition is balancing sustainability, affordability and security of supply, that’s what Centrica is doing better than most.”
Gary Booker said: “The opportunity to help Centrica, and its amazing brands, grow through improving customer service and driving innovation in our offerings is one I couldn’t pass up. My mission is to help ensure that our customer experience leads the industry and I’ve every confidence that alongside our amazing engineering force and fabulous customer contact teams we can do just that.”
