Centrica has once again been recognised as a top employer in the CCLA Corporate Mental Health Benchmark UK, reaffirming its commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive workplace where colleagues can thrive.
The benchmark, which assesses how the top 100 companies in the UK are supporting the mental health and wellbeing of their people, highlights the continued progress across Centrica’s approach and disclosure - from leadership commitment and workplace culture, to the support available to colleagues and more. Through activities such as these, Centrica has secured Tier 1 leadership status amongst 12 other leading companies. Tier 1 is the top tier out of a possible five performance tiers, an achievement it has maintained for the fifth consecutive year.
This latest recognition reflects the sustained focus on embedding wellbeing into everyday working life. Over the past year, Centrica has continued to strengthen its approach, ensuring colleagues have access to the right support and the right time - including through our company-funded healthcare plan, our 24/7 emotional helpline and GP access, our on-demand wellbeing app and our colleague-led Mental Health First Aiders - all while fostering an open culture where conversations about mental health and wellbeing are encouraged.
Action like this is important as it helps people perform at their best, which in turn, ensures we can better serve our customers and communities.
While the Tier 1 ranking is a significant achievement, Centrica recognises that supporting mental health is an ongoing journey. The organisation remains committed to listening to colleagues, learning from best practice, and continuing to evolve its approach to meet changing needs.
This recognition reinforces Centrica’s ambition to be a responsible employer and to put people at the heart of its business.
