Centrica has been listed as a Top 50 employer for gender equality by The Times, for the fourth consecutive year.
The ranking recognises those that are committed to gender equality at all levels of the workplace and includes of some of the UK’s biggest employers.
Companies were assessed on their policies and the cultural interventions put in place to ensure gender equality across a range of areas - from pay and progression, to flexible working and family friendly policies.
“This acknowledges the incredibly hard work of teams across Centrica in creating a workplace that is warm and welcoming, where our colleagues can thrive within a supportive environment.”
Kat Parsons, Group Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
With gender inequality still prevalent in many workplaces and often exacerbated during times of economic disruption, such as the aftermath of the pandemic and during a rise in the cost of living, rankings like this are important because they recognise and drive progress.
The recognition follows Centrica being recently named as a leading employer in the CCLA Corporate Mental Health Benchmark for the fourth consecutive year. The benchmark assesses the management and reporting of workplace mental health and wellbeing. Centrica was one of just ten companies to hold Tier 1 status in 2025 (the highest Tier out of five).
Kat Parsons, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Lead said: “External recognition like this is vital in helping to benchmark against peers. It also acknowledges the incredibly hard work of teams across Centrica in creating a workplace that is warm and welcoming, where our colleagues can thrive within a supportive environment.”
