British Gas business customers will be able to enjoy half price electricity from the 17th September for six weeks, as the energy provider announces the return of its PeakSave for Business scheme.

The upcoming trial is designed to help SMEs reduce their electricity costs while supporting a greener, more sustainable future - making it easier for small and medium-sized businesses to save money and contribute to the UK’s net zero goals. Eligible, participating businesses will receive half-price electricity for six Wednesdays, from 11am-4pm, starting from the 17th September until the 22nd October.

PeakSave for Business rewards customers for shifting their electricity usage to times when there’s less demand, or more renewable electricity available on the grid, supporting a greener energy supply. By shifting electricity consumption to off-peak periods, businesses not only save money but also contribute to a more sustainable energy system.

“Our business customers are extremely important to us, which is why we’re proud to bring PeakSave for Business back this September following the huge success of our last event. The scheme helps businesses save money and make use of cleaner, greener energy and is another step toward cutting energy costs across the UK.”

Matt Wood, Director of British Gas Business

This year alone, the scheme has already saved businesses £236,000, a significant increase from £57,000 in 2024. Nearly 60,000 eligible businesses with smart meters have been invited to join the trial.

Matt Wood, Director of British Gas Business, said: “Our business customers are extremely important to us, which is why we’re proud to bring PeakSave for Business back this September following the huge success of our last event. The scheme helps businesses save money and make use of cleaner, greener energy and is another step toward cutting energy costs across the UK.”

The PeakSave for Business scheme has received positive feedback from participating businesses. One business commented, “It was straightforward to register, and we were pleased to have made savings through the scheme”, while another shared a similar view: “The PeakSave promotion was easy to understand and equally easy to participate in. We would certainly enrol again”.
