Centrica Energy will sponsor the Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2025, with certificates from Danish wind and solar power to contribute to a greener Danish EU presidency.

The company acknowledges that the Danish Presidency comes at a crucial time for Europe’s energy future and fully supports the Danish EU presidency’s ambition to accelerate the green transition while strengthening energy security, competitiveness, and system integration across the EU.

Centrica Energy will look to engage with the Danish Presidency’s focus on energy, including on topics such as:

• Advancing a Clean Industrial Deal and energy market reforms that will strengthen EU competitiveness.
• Ensuring a secure and flexible energy system that supports large-scale renewable integration.
• Accelerating the electrification of industry and transport across member states.
• Laying the groundwork for cost-effective investment in cross-border infrastructure.
• Strengthening EU energy independence.

As sponsor of the Danish EU Presidency, Centrica Energy is proud to supply certificates from Danish Wind and Solar parks for official activities throughout the presidency, covering energy consumption from events, conferences and the official EV fleet. This contribution reflects the company’s commitment to enabling a cleaner, more secure, and more interconnected energy system in Europe.

The sponsorship is created together with Ørsted, Green Power Danmark and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Denmark.
