Centrica has been recognised for its family-friendly working practices at the Scottish Top Employers for Working Families Awards.
Centrica collected not one but two awards – scooping Best Large Private Sector Employer and The Carers Scotland Best for Carers and Eldercare Award.
Simon Hodgson, director of Carers Scotland, commended Centrica for winning the carers and eldercare award, saying it demonstrated “outstanding levels of support for employees with caring responsibilities” and its best practice “can help raise awareness across employers in Scotland of the importance of supporting and retaining valuable members of staff who are carers”.
Alison Hughes, Centrica’s head of HR and policy diversity, said: “We appreciate that our people not only contribute significantly to our continued business success, but also play a vital role in the lives of their families.
“We are therefore delighted to be recognised for our commitment to family friendly policies and practices.”
The awards were organised by Family Friendly Working Scotland – a partnership between the Scottish Government and three organisations: Working Families, Fathers Network Scotland, and Parenting Across Scotland.
