British Gas response to Ofgem announcement
British Gas Managing Director, Phil Bentley said:
“This is a wide ranging and robust set of proposals designed to improve consumer trust in the energy market and is a welcome step forward.
“At British Gas, our customers can be confident they are on the right deal - we’ve simplified tariffs, made comparison of prices easier to understand and we always tell our customers if they could be on a better deal. These proposals mean all suppliers will have to adopt similarly high standards.
"It is good to see Ofgem calling time on continuous market reviews, whilst recognising that increasing cost pressures on bills make a long term reduction in prices unlikely. At British Gas, we're helping customers offset rising prices by improving the energy efficiency of their homes."
