Jill Shedden, MBE
Chief People Officer
Jill was appointed Chief People Officer on 1 July 2011.
Relevant Skills and Experience:
Jill joined British Gas plc as a graduate in 1988 and has since held a wide range of roles across the Group. Prior to her appointment as Group Chief People Officer Jill was HR Director in British Gas Business, HR Director of British Gas Energy, a role that saw her determining and delivering the people agenda for 25,000 people in the UK, India and South Africa, and HR Director for Centrica Energy where she led the successful integration of Venture Production. In the 2017 New Year’s Honours list Jill was awarded an MBE for ‘services to women and equality’ in recognition of her work with, amongst other organisations, the Women’s Business Council. She was a non-executive director of Thames Water Utilities Limited from 2018 until 2024.
