Collections Workflow SAS Developer

The Collections Workflow SAS Developer will design, maintain and support UK Business Workflow systems across Credit & Collections to create, understand and report on collections activity such as telephony, debt collection agency activities, site visits and more specialist treatments.
The developer will be a technical expert being both experienced and knowledgeable in designing high quality data driven systems using SAS for business users in an agile, collaborative and delivery-orientated commercial environment.
The role will require the developer to be equally adept in undertaking four essential responsibilities.
A primary duty of the role is to maintain existing workflow systems ensuring that they continue to be fit for purpose and are appropriately configured to work alongside other systems in a highly dynamic data-orientated environment.
The role will also require the developer to create from “end to end” if necessary, well designed systems that generate, provide insight into and track collections workflow in all its various forms for the Operations teams within Credit and Collections using SAS.
There is also an important requirement for the SAS Developer to support with data analysis and reporting which provides the knowledge to drive remedial activities to tackle complex and abstract issues in line with challenging Collection’s targets
The developer will also act as a first point of contact for technical issues and queries relating to existing workflow systems operated by our Workflow Delivery Analysts.
The developer should have at least 12 months’ experience of using SAS in either Base or SAS EG including use of SQL, data steps, macro and SAS functions.
The developer should have a proven track record of delivering multi-faceted, data-driven systems in a commercially orientated environment in collaboration with the system users and business analysts.
The person should be equally comfortable liaising with collections agents, managers and other analysts in a system capacity and be confident and consultative in engaging stakeholders.
As an analyst, the individual should be highly numerate, able to present findings from reports in an easily intelligible and insightful way.
The candidate should have a numerical degree, technical degree or significant equivalent work experience in an environment which would typically require such skills and knowledge.
Experience of using Linux or in statistical modelling would be also be very useful.
