This role is vital in providing leadership and direction to the onshore operations and maintenance teams for our Barrow terminal with shared responsibility for multiple £100m’s in production revenue.
You will be legally responsible for ensuring the facility (inclusive of North, Rivers, South and the CSF) is compliant with onshore legislation and Spirit Energy standards ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of the 28 day plan, supporting the optimisation of production and meeting the Morecambe Hub annual safety, production, environmental and operational goals.
Note: this role is a rotational role with a back to back. It is designed for 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off.
You will direct and control all activities in compliance with the Spirit Energy’s systems of work, in compliance with the COMAH case and relevant legislation, driving improvements in standards, safety / environmental performance and promoting a strong safety culture. You will be responsible for managing and improving safe systems of work – including but not limited to Risk Assessment, PTW, Isolations, Control of inhibits, Flange management etc, and ensure that effective operational Risk Assessments are in place for impaired safety critical systems and that the impact is appropriately considered in the control of work processes.
Key to the role is to give leadership and engender strong teamwork to support Morecambe improvement plan and ensure consistency of approach between onshore and offshore.
Through ownership of the 28 day plan and 14 day scheduling process, you will ensure that all planned maintenance and inspection activities are completed in a timely manner to minimise backlog thus ensuring safe operations. Also, key to the role is to ensure all operations and maintenance personnel maintain competencies required for their respective duties in accordance with Spirit Energy systems, actively coaching & developing operations and maintenance teams to build capability.
As the Terminal Manager you will ensure operations readiness for execution of turnarounds to maximise tooltime and support delivery of agreed turnaround schedules ensuring all compliance actions (incl. Management Of Change) are closed out in a timely manner. You will perform required Emergency Response role within the local site plans.
You will manage contracted service providers to meet and exceed required standards of safety, performance and quality and undertake regular high quality active monitoring to ensure compliance with standards, ensuring process is in place for terminal supervision to operate at the highest standards.
Ideally you will be a chartered engineer and have extensive experience in an Oil and Gas leadership role, with production experience in electrical, instrumentation, mechanical maintenance or production operations. A seasoned professional with deep knowledge and expertise in both Safety and Gas processing in a highly regulated and major accident hazard COMAH site is required.
You will have a demonstrable record in Health, Safety and Environment management, complying with legislation, Management of Major Emergency preparedness, for Oil & Gas offshore or onshore facility, OIM Regulations or equivalent (IOSH / NEBOSH), Offshore Safety / Survival training and other relevant OIM competencies.
A proven leader you will have experience in offering a flexible leadership style dependent on the situation – e.g. collaborative to authoritative and have demonstrated a high level of professional and personal credibility – internally and externally.
A proven record of and the ability to stimulate creativity, innovation and change culture, coach individuals and manage real change across a diverse workforce as well as the ability to manage risk, ensuring compliance and maintaining a safe working environment is key.
