Job Description

Direct Energy is seeking a highly motivated Design Engineer to join the North America Distributed Energy (NADE) Team. The Design Engineer will support the Applications Engineering Team, including design, research, and engineering documentation. This role reports directly to the Engineering Manager with day-to-day reporting to the lead Applications Mechanical and Electrical Engineers.

Requirements

  • In depth knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical symbols
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and problem solve effectively
  • Microsoft office suite

Responsibilities

  • Support the engineering design operations of the Applications Engineering Team as required
  • Use AutoCAD to create drawings of mechanical and electrical schematics
  • Organize and maintain existing engineering drawing and design records
  • Ensure designs adhere to applicable industry and business standards
  • Customer and team meeting materials preparation
  • Maintain transparency and timely communication via team’s SharePoint site (e.g. project dashboards, status reports, metrics, schedule status, etc.)
  • Ensure deliverables meet required quality standards
  • Maintain Engineering AutoCAD standards, policies and procedures
