Overview

Senior UX Designer / Product Designer – Perm

Staines (or Leicester) | Household Name/FTSE 100 Company

An opportunity for a Senior User Experience Designer has become available with a long-established household name brand that is enjoying a very successful digital transformation towards true user centered design, focusing on creating outcomes instead of output.

Importantly: if you’re looking for somewhere where you take a requirements brief, create wireframes, spec docs and provide “expert heuristic opinions” then you’re looking in the wrong place!

The Role

What we do & believe in:

We believe in user needs above all else. We believe in behavioural science based decision making and the power of good experience design to move companies in a market and change people’s lives. Do you want to help us create world class digital experiences for our ‘Users’ & ‘Choosers’? Come join our ‘blessing’ of UX Unicorns, it’ll be fun!

This team focuses on what UX is supposed to be about: Gaining evidence around validated user needs and iterating/incrementing a product in the pursuit of experimenting their way to customer value and related business value.

This role is as a UX Designer within a large decentralised UX team (with a centralised Design Team family feel) of around 30 other UX Designers. Working as part of multi-disciplinary product teams, you will be responsible for all aspects of user experience including user needs research, behavioural science & cognitive science based usability testing (in our custom-built onsite usability lab), data analytics and user interface design (including final visual design and finesse – there are no UI Designers here colouring-in wireframes, not a chance!).

What you will get:

This is an opportunity to work with a cutting-edge & award winning team that are continually improving not just the products they are working on, but also their methods and ways of working as well. We are constantly learning and pushing ourselves.

As a person who knows the difference between leadership and management, you will join a team with an extremely high bar and will have the opportunity to learn from your high performing colleagues daily in a friendly, inspiring and collaborative environment. If you are all about gaining evidence for any decision you make, and are looking for a long-term role focusing on products instead of projects that will enable you to use all your UX utility belt and then some, then this the right challenge for you.
