Job Description

  • The Functional Consultant SAP will be responsible for delivery of the SAP change plan, system/process changes and enhancements in line with agreed upon implementation dates with Direct Energy Business Partners. In this role, the Functional Consultant will lead all SAP change plan work for Corporate functions including Finance, HR, Payroll and Procurement supporting work prioritization, requirements analysis, functional analysis/design, testing and change implementation. The position will report to the Head of SAP UK and NA Group Functions and will additionally support global change initiatives related to the SAP stack including implementation activities supporting SAP S4/HANA, ARIBA and Workday Payroll.

     

Requirements

•    Configure and test (unit & SIT) the software 
•    FICO/SRM/Payroll configuration including but not limited to: GL; Profit Center; Asset Accounting; Cost Center; COPA; AP; AR; Bank; Internal Orders; Project Systems.  Additionally nice to have are: FI-MM; CO-Allocations. 
•    Exploit tools available (e.g. SAP --SECATT, LSMW, Query, etc.) to reduce development work on projects and CRs.
•    Drive the development of functional and systems specifications 
•    Support the development of technical specifications (provide direction to  and support programmers)
•    Provide high-level estimates for design and implementation efforts 
•    Write and maintain necessary documentation 
•    Actively perform knowledge transfer to client team members 
•    Communicate status, issues, and impacts with relevant business contacts 
•    Work with people of all levels in a team environment 
•    Provide support to deployment as necessary, as well as production support 
•    Develop recommendations to meet deliverable targets and complete project tasks within budget and timelines
•    Provide recommendations to increase or improve the effectiveness / efficiency of SAP business processes
•    Provide SAP support to business and corporate units at month end and year end

Responsibilities

  • Analyze customers’ business requirements, needs and objectives and in working with the business translate them into SAP business requirements document (BRD)
  • Participate in designing business processes considering accepted best business practices
  • Provide input and advice regarding SAP capabilities and functions to business users and perform Fit/Gap analysis 
  • Conduct business /process modelling 
  • Work with business and corporate units to identify and implement process and controls during project / CR work.  Document the agreed processes for business sign-off.
  • Review functional and configuration requirements to ensure they are in line with the BRD
  • Be responsible for completeness and quality of functional design 
  • Support the development of functional and systems specifications 
  • Review high-level estimates for design and implementation efforts, for reasonableness
  • Evaluate solution options/enhancements
  • Support PM on communication status, issues, and impacts with relevant business sponsors and process owners where needed
  • Work with people of all levels in a team environment 
  • Maintain/Utilize test scripts
  • Drive/Support the execution of system integrated testing 
  • Support the execution of the user acceptance testing
  • Maintain / Develop / Support end user training material
  • Act as the liaison contact between the business group and the development group; prepare the UAT data, gather the test outcomes and participate in the project sign-off procedures
  • Provide support to deployment as necessary, as well as production support 
  • Develop recommendations to meet deliverable targets and complete project tasks within budget and timelines
  • Provide recommendations to increase or improve the effectiveness / efficiency of SAP business processes
  • Initiate Change Requests and/or Project Initiation Request for the identified weak areas and prepare the Business Cases with supporting financial analysis to justify the need for the new controls
  • Provide SAP support to business and corporate units at month end and year end
  • Support, develop and monitor the Super User program
  • Manage user profile in coordination with the security group
  • Support existing business processes, documentation & training
  • Propose improvements to the existing SAP footprint, and provide business case support where needed.
  • Supervise temporary staff; assign them jobs according to their skills and workload
