Job Description

The Strategy Manager will be responsible for leading strategy projects including the development of analytical frameworks, fact-bases and recommendations on topics that range across the industries and business segments in which NA Home operates. Reporting to the Head of Strategy and Chief of Staff, NA Home, the role is based at Centrica’s North American head office in Houston, Texas.


This candidate will be exposed to a wide range of strategic issues and gain experience in a challenging and fast-paced corporate environment. The role requires ability to work with and support senior management directly, proven analytical and financial skills, flexibility, an ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently, and an ability to produce high-quality output under tight deadlines.


This role requires working knowledge of the North American energy and services markets and financial analysis. Prior experience in strategy, economics or management consulting preferred.


  • Experience working in corporate or business strategy functions
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including advanced PowerPoint skills
  • Proven project management skills, including an ability to coordinate across teams
  • Strong problem structuring and solving skills
  • Excellent financial modeling/analysis skills
  • Time management, prioritization capabilities and attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of financial accounting
  • Working knowledge of the North American energy and services industry
  • Strong team and interpersonal skills
  • Resourcefulness and ability to work with limited supervision
  • Flexibility and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • MBA, Economics or other business degree desired


  • Management of strategy projects in support of internal strategy reviews, new business development and market assessments
    • General project management, including project scoping, coordination, consolidation of materials and communication of results to senior management
    • Research and data collection from stakeholders and external sources
    • Analysis of high value-at-stake issues
    • Development of actionable recommendations based upon research and analysis
  • Management, collaboration and consultation with teams in NA Home and corporate functions
    • Leadership of or contribution to strategy projects on commercial and operations topics
    • Review and challenge of business and functional plans and assumptions
    • Ensure linkage and coordination to Centrica-wide strategy objectives
    • Support ad hoc analyses to improve fact-bases or recommendations
    • Facilitation of interactions with NA Connected Home
  • Ad hoc analysis, research, and communications support for North America’s senior leadership and the Strategy and Chief of Staff team
    • Self-directed research and analysis into a wide variety of topics
    • Preparation of high-impact communication materials, including papers and presentations
    • Interaction and collaboration with C-level executives
