Offshore Operations Engineer
In this key offshore role you will safely manage and control all offshore operations in the Morecambe Gas Fields and any associated operated joint ventures, optimising company resources in order to satisfy both business targets and legislative requirements.
Reporting directly into the Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) you will be responsible for managing a multi-disciplined team of engineers, supervisors, technicians and craftsmen both Centrica staff and contractors. As part of a small management team you will hold direct accountability for a key operational area having significant input into the development of work scopes and ensuring expenditure is within budget and ensuring activities are undertaken safely and to plan. This role manages the integration of all offshore operational activities: production, maintenance, well services, support services, drilling, diving/Remote Operated Vessel and construction work; and co-ordinates the operation of all attendant installation/vessels within the fields.
You will develop short and longer term (1year) plans assessing priorities and addressing conflicts to ensure the availability of facilities, reliability of operations and continuous improvement of performance.
Assuring the competency of those in your teams and ensuring that the balance of competencies can meet changing business and operational demands is vital to this role.
You will be responsible for developing all members of your team and ensuring that suitable development plans are implemented and reviewed. You will have a direct responsibility for promoting a positive safety culture and ensuring that all activities are undertaken in full cognisance of our commitment to health, safety and the environment and that all necessary controls are in place to minimise risks and eliminate potential hazards.
An experienced and degree qualified engineer from a maintenance/production background is required for this crucial role.
You will have extensive experience offshore with proven supervisory and management experience holding ‘acting in place of’ competency for emergency response & OPITO MoME level 3.
As a safety leader you will have a demonstrable track record of improving HSE processes and behaviours and be fully versed in offshore best practice and legislation.
