Senior Mechanical Integrity Engineer

In this key role in our maintenance organisation you will support Centrica’s offshore assets providing front line pressure systems and structural engineering support with the goal of executing effective inspection and repair activities. You will be Centrica’s focal point for troubleshooting in these fields and be responsible for day to day management and oversight of 3rd party inspection services.

The Role

As an experienced engineering professional you will support the inspection repair and maintenance (IRM)lead, ensuring that discipline specific engineering work (OPEX) remains within budget.

Your knowledge and experience will allow you to make key decisions on fitness for service and technical and HSE acceptability. You will be integral in reviewing and upgrading Centrica’s integrity management process.

You will ensure delivery of technically correct and timely engineering work (OPEX)service and engage and participate in operational improvement processes to optimise discipline specific engineering support. You will be involved in the resolution of operational problems, including participation in and close-out of accident and incident investigations and equipment failure root cause analysis.

Key to this role is to actively engage with the site execution teams, ensuring participation and engagement in corporate behavioural safety and intervention schemes and working to enhance communication and promote understanding of goals.

The Person

You will ideally be a chartered engineer with a background in a smaller operator, as the ability to make key decisions without reliance on others or the contractor is vital to this role.

As a safety leader you will conduct all activities in a safe and effective manner and raise safety and environmental issues immediately and in line with corporate policy. You will have considerable experience in a similar role in the oil and gas industry, predominantly gained in an engineering and production operations environment with good working knowledge and application of relevant UK oil and gas industry regulations.

Experience with quality processes and the application of continuous improvement tools is desirable.
