Job DescriptionDE Business is the largest commercial and industrial retailer in North America
based on customer numbers. It provides natural gas and electricity sales to
small, medium and large-size businesses, public institutions, and government.
Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Strategy, Finance, Accounting or Business (MBA preferred)
  • 2-4 years of management consulting experience
  • Advanced and efficient skills using MS Excel and PowerPoint tools (absolutely required)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter who can work independently
  • Thorough understanding of financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to influence business decisions at all levels of the organization
  • Exhibits strong business acumen, strategic thinking and is solution oriented
  • Ability to analyze operational and financial data
  • Perform competitor/industry research using both public and non-public sources
  • Working collaboratively with team members across LOBs and staff areas
  • Contributing to concise communication materials for senior management
  • The right candidate will be able to explain and propose strategic recommendations
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines

Responsibilities

Direct Energy LP seeks Manager Business Strategy to be responsible for day-to-day facilitation and delivery of a Direct Energy Business (DEB) wide strategy to align across the organization

  • Coordinate across Sales, Wholesale Operations, commercial and strategy teams to seek input and dialogue around key strategic questions
  • Ensure that key strategic questions are being addressed and actioned at the DEB Leadership Team (DEBLT) level
  • Work with DEB President around overall strategic priorities for organization
  • Conduct workshops using proven strategic frameworks to help inform DEB strategy
  • Coordinate with corporate mergers & acquisitions and represent DEB interests in potential acquisitions
  • Responsible for providing DEB competitive position and market share analysis
  • Provide Executive Support for President of DEB
  • Participate as an active member of DEB CLT
  • Conduct Financial planning and analysis to build and support the annual budget cycle of the company
  • Help manage agendas for DEB CLT meetings
  • Produce presentation content for town halls, corporate requests, executive visits to DEB offices
  • Work with internal communications on monthly DEB wrap up from DEB President
  • Work with external communications on presentation material for external speaking engagements of DEB President
