Requirements

Primary Requirements

  • Ability to build relationships to include homeowners, professional partners, community leaders, and existing customers
  • Management, design, and implementation an overall team territory structure
  • Documentation of the performance plan for each residential account executive that includes measures, desired outcomes, and standards
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation
  • 3 years of sales management experience including direct to consumer sales
  • Work duties performed in an office environment, and include accompanying sales representatives on in-home sales visits, canvassing, and events

Minimum Education, Experience and Requirements:

  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft office suite
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and have a clean driving record
  • Employee must be able to work outdoors daily with exposure to an outside environment
  • Maintain flexibility in scheduling sales visits - daytime, evenings and weekends
  • Bachelor's degree recommended but not required 
  • Previous sales experience with a track record of demonstrated achievement  
  • Ability to close customers within a short sales cycle 

 

Responsibilities

As a Residential Sales Manager you will be focused on driving sales growth through “coaching”, recruiting, training, and delivering an outstanding customer experience. The individual must be a self-motivated professional with a background crossing business development and sales. The individual should display the ability to communicate timely and effectively, building a sales culture with a drive for success, responsibility, and attention-to-detail. This is a full-time sales management position with Direct Energy. As such, the role has a competitive base salary, commission program linked to performance, health care benefits, and the ability to advance quickly in a rapidly growing company.

Responsibilities
 

  • Ensuring team remains at full headcount and partnering with recruiting resources to forecast that open roles are filled quickly
  • Delivering net sales figures from each member of sales team while maintaining an outstanding sales experience score
  • Developing an effective sales team through recruiting, training, coaching, and counselling
  • Reviewing and analyzing daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports, while using data to support coaching conversations
  • Conducting regular in-the-field coaching via shadowing and team selling
  • Monitoring employee performance, and counseling and advising to ensure compatibility, maximum effectiveness, and continued growth on a constant basis
  • Facilitating team huddles daily to foster best practice sharing throughout the team
