The Overview

Managing joint ventures and delivering on commercial activities and agreements as requested at a senior level to increase the profitability of the business, manage commercial risk and ensure commercial compliance.

The Role

Accountabilities

  • Effective running of operated JVs for the licenses and assets assigned to the role;
  • Interfacing with license partners relating to production, transportation and processing infrastructure, including 3rd party tie-in fields;
  • When required, chair Opcoms and coordinate sub-committees as requested;
  • Proactively identify and coordinate CE E&P interaction with all key stakeholders e.g. owners of 3rd party tie-in fields and infrastructure owners, acting as a primary interface for external stakeholders excluding DECC;
  • Work closely with Asset Integration team and/or Non-Op Asset teams and other relevant functions to ensure 3rd party interactions are fully coordinated;
  • Influence outcomes to assure alignment of operator and partner positions;
  • Carry out robust commercial analysis, approaching infrastructure owners and negotiating fit for purpose infrastructure and commercial solutions;
  • Pro-actively advise and manage all commercial and contractual aspects of the relevant commercial agreements relating to the company's asset base as required;
  • Manage commercial risk. Ensures that the contractual obligations or rights arising out of the suites of commercial agreements are clearly articulated and understood by the relevant parts and departments within CE E&P with each obligation being adhered to, documented and reported on to management on a timely basis;
  • Ensure that all commercial activities undertaken are in accordance with CE Commercial processes and procedures, ICOP/CCOP and Centrica’s ethical and business standards;

Active participation in peer reviews and commercial due diligence as required. 

Competencies

  • E&P Commercial skills, experience and credibility including track record of successful negotiation of significant deals and contracts.
  • Excellent collaboration, team working and communication skills.

Sound numerical and analytical ability and presentation skills. Knowledge of internal project approval processes and economic requirements (e.g. PACE, CAF/ISC etc.)

The Candidate

  • Broad understanding of the E&P Value Chain and awareness of Commercial opportunities/risks and their appropriate management/mitigation
  • Excellent business acumen and up-to-date knowledge of industry/regulatory practices and emerging trends combined with the desire and skills to challenge the ‘status quo’
  • Sound numerical and analytical ability and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of project approval processes and economic requirements (e.g. PACE, CAF/ISC etc.)
