In this role, you will develop deep expertise with HR Services and People Technology solutions used by Direct Energy and will work with business leaders, technologists, HR leaders and delivery partners to develop and document new strategies, requirements and timelines taking full advantage of the Workday platform. As the Workday HR Change Manager, you will own program management for North America, drive existing implementations and will be involved in the development of several key project deliverables (e.g., charter, project/staffing plan, issue logs, etc.). You will work with North American business leaders, technical program managers, and HR partners at all levels to understand strategy, requirements and timelines to guide an organization of Work Stream and Change Leads. Objectives for this role will include driving deliverables across multiple work streams, building processes for change and communications, and leading a team in delivering these solutions.



  • 10+ years of HR or related systems experience
  • 5+ years relevant program and project management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or related field
  • Experience managing, mentoring, and developing talent 
  • Strong knowledge of and proficiency in HRIS tools (preferably Workday)
  • Detailed knowledge of Human Resources
  • Demonstrated partnering and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage highly confidential information
  • Experience implementing processes and providing support for core HR solutions in large-scale, complex environments
  • Experience designing processes for core HCM technology such as Workday, PeopleSoft, SAP or Oracle HCM
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills - ability to interface with all levels of the organization, specific strength in influencing decision makers and managing expectations
  • Successful record of building and improving operational processes and procedures, ability to drive program efficiency and high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrated program ownership and consistent delivery on commitments - great organizational skills with exceptional follow through and attention to detail
  • Exceptional analytical skills, comfortable working with large amounts of data and communicating data findings, experience establishing and tracking program metrics including return on investment
  • Experience identifying and resolving complex issues, will take initiative even under unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances - solid sense of accountability and sound personal judgment
  • Customer service orientation with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations – ability to serve multiple customers and deliver an excellent employee experience
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • International experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with major systems integration
  • Master’s degree and/or MBA in business, HR or related field
  • Project management certification (PMP)
  • Successful candidates have a balance of functional (business) and technical experience





  • Deliver Solutions – Implement additional Workday solutions and services to meet long term HR and Payroll business needs; partner with development teams on system design and gap analysis, prioritization of critical initiatives and resources.
  • Project Management – Develop project plans, secure resources, and drive project schedule; collaborate effectively across teams to define strategy, goals and commitment to timelines and deliverables
  • Communication - Own communications to project members and stakeholders on progress, issues, and risks including regular status updates and periodic white paper analysis; provide pre and post launch communications to impacted teams
  • Business Requirements - Coordinate the collection of North America business requirements and the documentation of system configuration and integration specifications, test plans and use cases
  • Change Management – Lead the execution of the communication and training strategy, coordination of activities, and development of materials. Develop, maintain and apply change management processes and tools required to support the adoption of the changes required
  • Implementation - Direct the rollout of new tools and systems to North America teams including delivery of standard operating procedures, workflow diagrams, training materials and post-launch support resources
  • Measurement - Develop measures to define progress and success; establish ongoing reporting requirements and key performance indicators for confirming return on investment; own, track and maintain project budgets and forecasts
  • Developing Team Capabilities – Lead a team of direct reports to develop change management, project and program management skills, provide stretch opportunities to advance team members and provide career development opportunities
