This role will own, develop, and deliver a product and propositionsroadmap and run the planning process for a 10-person commercial team across UK Business Services and Connected Business, with the goal of acquiring, retaining, and expanding the lifetime value of customers.

This role will also own, set the strategy for, deliver the launch of, and manage a new product with a £300m-1b delivery partner that will triple the size of our total addressable market

This role will set and own the Connected Business Strategy, and own relationships with our Connected Home and Distributed Energy & Power business units

Set proposition strategy:

  • Lead the end-to-end development of a portfolio of business services and Connected Business propositions, implementing new and innovative products that respond to customer needs and deliver a strong business case
  • Develop overall propositions strategy and associated roadmap. Use data from existing products and input from team to inform long-term roadmap
  • Drive a culture where we design products that customers want, and where customers are treated fairly by our propositions. Working with each member of the team to ensure that they are regularly identifying customer needs and wants as roadmap progresses. Shifting roadmap strategy accordingly
  • Build and maintain relationship with relevant stakeholders at the boad and operational level including P&L owners, to enable delivery of props strategy
  • Ensure timely and quality roadmap delivery, set priorities when there is insufficient resource to deliver everything on the roadmap, and ensure senior and operational stakeholders are aware and supportive of any changes
  • Ensure that each product, proposition, or campaign launch prop has a robust, hypothesis-driven business case with clear success measures; and that both qualitative and quantitative performance will be tracked
  • Own relationship with insight, marketing, digital teams to develop and drive a joined up commercial, digital and marketing strategy based on customer insight
  • Ensure that senior and operational stakeholders are aware of and bought into upcoming props that will move into BAU activities
  • Develop in-depth product knowledge of all Installs,  as well as any service or connected products developed in future. Serve as product expert within UK Business

Launch and Manage HVAC product:

  • Develop product and market entry strategy for an HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) service product. Manage the resulting product on an ongoing basis
  • Run customer insight agenda to inform pre-launch product design and post-launch product improvement
  • Lead a market and technical review (with appropriate internal and external support) and develop product offering and segmentation strategy. Design subscription, one-off service, and installation product with support from Pricing team
  • Negotiate, and execute and manage a delivery partnership with a £300m-1b service delivery partner
  • Launch product. Coordinate with delivery partner,and launch the customer journey; to ensure HSE and customer standards are met; Marketing to design and launch customer acquisition strategy
  • You'll oversee launch of subsequent propositions related to this product, supporting growth objectives by tripling our total addressable services market via this product launch
  • Developing success measures and track ongoing qualitative and quantitative performance

Develop and Execute Connected Business Strategy:

  • Develop product and market entry strategy for all Connected Business including those developed in future). Setting the long-term connected strategy and manage the overall product portfolio
  • Develop and execute a connected business product roadmap and a propositions roadmap that deliver the strategic objectives of the business. This includes development business case and success measures; customer journey & conversation design; marketing or digital campaigns; performance tracking; and legal, regs & competition team sign-off
  • Develop and maintain relationships at the board and operational levels). Partnering with relevant business areas to run the customer insight agenda to inform near-term marketing and proposition activity and long-term product and proposition roadmap
  • Influence to develop business-specific product and feature requirements for our connected products, based on customer insight. Liaise with product development teams (as well as hardware, app and platform teams as necessary) to develop business cases for and implement the new features/products
  • Own our broker agenda for all connected products. Develop strategy to sell connected products through broker channel, design product bundles and broker incentive structure, execute broker partnership and collect feedback

Essential skills to be considered for this role:

  • Significant prior experience in a commercial or product role
  • Knowledge of digital and internet-of-things industry trends
  • A proven track record of developing and implementing new products or propositions
  • Experience in planning and measuring commercial outcomes
  • History of successful stakeholder management

There will b occasional travel to Leicester, Oxford & Rotherham
