  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, strong data organizational skills and accurate mathematical skills
  • Exhibit technical skills to assist with reporting, compliance and data management of retirement programs
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher 
  • Minimum of 5 year experience administering DC plans 
  • Working knowledge of DOL, IRS, ERISA, CRA and FSCO regulations as they relate to employee benefit plan administration 
  • Some experience with non-qualified deferred compensation and DB plans preferred 
  • Experience in M&A activity preferred
  • Completion of, or progress toward Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation a plus


  • This role will work to understand and help deliver the benefit agenda, ensuring new and existing benefit plans are compliant with both the company policy and local regulations.
  • Support the global strategy to attract and retain talent for Centrica by managing, maintaining and effectively communicating the retirement programs 
  • Manage retirement programs consistent with the global strategy to develop a cost effective and cohesive program to improve the retirement and financial wellbeing proposition 
  • Develop, implement and manage a holistic financial wellbeing program that provides tools and resources to educate employees on financial matters 
  • Select and manage quality partnering organizations to effectively and efficiently deliver services supporting the retirement and financial wellbeing programs (I.e. investment advisors, record-keepers, consultants, etc.)
  • Cultivate effective working relationships with program vendors and act as primary contact on plan activities and issues 
  • Secure the plan’s compliance position by ensuring the timely processing of annual filings (I.e. Form 5500, Form 7, Financial Statements etc.) 
  • Prepare and provide data and reports for external annual plan audits 
  • Attend quarterly Operations Sub-Committee and Investments Sub-Committee meetings 
  • Make recommendations on projects to improve efficiencies, reduce cycle time and minimize error rates
  • Assist in developing communications to promote and educate employees on benefit and wellbeing programs
  • Coordinate annual wellbeing fairs and sessions by partnering with HR and benefit program vendors 
  • Project lead on annual NQ plan enrollment and RRSP bonus enrollment 
  • Provide support to global projects and M&A activity 
  • Respond to employee enquiries regarding the benefits and wellbeing programs
