EENG2017 Electrical and Control & Instrumentation Engineering Graduate Programme
Where better to continue your journey towards becoming a Chartered Engineer?
As a leading integrated energy company with a gas, oil, power generation and storage portfolio, we actively engage in the development of pioneering, innovative and well-motivated engineers to become integral members of a high performing team.
During the four year accredited programme, you will undertake a variety of placements across our businesses: Distributed Energy & Power, Centrica Exploration & Production and Centrica Storage where you will learn all the nuts and bolts you’ll need to become a well-rounded engineer. Senior stakeholders will support and guide you towards chartered status and will also plan ahead regarding your first permanent role within the business upon completion of the programme.
Within Centrica Exploration & Production you will be part of a team that is making exciting strides within exploration and production: graduates working within Centrica Storage will gain unique insights into a high-profile and strategically important gas storage environment. Whilst graduates joining Distributed Energy & Power will gain exposure to large gas-fired power stations or new distributed energy systems. You will develop breadth by undertaking placements across the business. A carefully-structured development programme will give you the opportunity to achieve your full potential.
As part of a diverse multi-disciplined team responsible for supplying millions of customers, working quickly and reliably under pressure becomes second nature. Most of all you will be encouraged to hammer away at new skills and constantly build on your knowledge. We are looking towards a future where there will be great challenges to overcome. So, we are looking for passionate and creative mechanical, chemical, electrical and C&I engineers who can deliver solutions, often within tight timeframes, and implement them safely and successfully. That’s what makes this a fascinating, stretching and rewarding scheme.
In return, we’ll support and guide you towards chartered status and gaining accreditation with IMechE, IET or IChemE. A Chartered Engineer will be appointed as your technical mentor throughout the scheme and structure your development based on the requirements of the UK Spec and wider engineering Capability Development Programme.
