Specialists will perform the combined duties of instructional designer, trainer and learning strategy consultant.  One operating in this capacity will analyze, design, develop and deliver learning materials, including those required for online modules, instructor-led training, job-aides, evaluations and the like. There will also be a strong emphasis on compliance and adherence to region/state-level Public Utility Commission customer protection rules.  This position will interface with various business units including, but is not limited to interacting with external sales partners, sales channel management, legal and compliance departments. This position will be located in the Texas region.  


  • Bachelors degree in learning related field preferred (Masters degree preferred)
  • Knowledge and experience with ADDIE model
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in classroom and virtual delivery methods
  • Experience writing content for participant guides and facilitator guides
  • High proficiency with various online authoring tools including Captivate, Articulate, etc.
  • Experience using and managing content in a learning management system (LMS)            
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Access)
  • Ability to think and act independently
  • Must possess high level of organizational and planning skills

  • Utilize instructional design methodology to design and develop training materials for various learning contexts
  • Present information, using a variety of instructional techniques and formats such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos and lectures
  • Identify and assess organizational training needs
  • Meet with stakeholders to ascertain training needs
  • Work with SME to analyze and design learning materials for all media
  • Develop, organize, conduct and evaluate training programs
  • Teach skills such as computer applications, phone systems, product offers, policies and procedures, and sales and customer service techniques
  • Direct structured learning experiences
  • Hold meetings and presentations on learning material
  • Plan, organize, and implement a range of training activities
  • Modify existing training programs
  • Create interactive, multimedia presentations
  • Collaborate with Team Members to determine training methods and approaches that most effectively promote learner’s performance
  • Monitor effectiveness of training programs and progress of trainees
  • Manage the documentation of learning materials with appropriate version controls in formats that are user friendly and accessible
  • Conduct regular post-training competency evaluations of operations staff to assess the need for additional training
  • Continuous improvement of existing learning materials based on quality results, trainee survey results, and evaluation results
  • Evaluate learning results using Kirkpatrick levels of evaluation
  • Maintain learning resources in the LMS
  • Maintain design and delivery templates for online and classroom delivery
  • Regularly evaluate and communicate effectiveness of training programs to business stakeholders, as aligned with KPIs and overall business goals
  • Coordinate, schedule, and conduct user training sessions
  • Ensure all necessary materials and tools required for training delivery are prepared in advance of training execution
  • Identify learner needs and develop or maintain appropriate learning solutions
