Our 10-week programme is designed to increase employability in students whilst providing a valuable resource to the business. We are looking for self-directed learners and self-motivated individuals, who show potential to grow, learn and develop on our Summer Placement Programme. You should aim to demonstrate a can-do proactive attitude and a genuine interest in HR and desire to want to learn more about our business and industry.
In return, addressing your development needs and working closely with the business, we produce projects with a high level of responsibility and the opportunity to enhance and develop the fundamental skills required for working in HR, with a support network that’s second to none. We want you to stand out in the workplace and helping you to establish your strengths and fulfil your potential, is what our Summer Placement is all about.
We also encourage you to get involved with community and charity activities; one of these is the summer placement charity challenge, which raises money for our chosen charities. In the last 3 years students have raised around fifty thousand pounds through various team initiatives. This challenge offers the opportunity to further enhance vital skills for the work place by encouraging individuals to network with other students as well as creating innovative solutions.
We also give you the chance to explore the business so that you can really appreciate the diversity of the organisation and the graduate opportunities available. If you perform well, you could leave us with an offer to join the Graduate Programme the following year.
The HR stream will give you stretching and challenging projects across some of the following disciplines: strategic HR business partnering; talent management and succession planning; learning and development; resourcing strategy and projects; reward and recognition; and employee engagement. By taking real accountability for your project; you will build your employability skills and gain significant insight into what it’s really like to work in HR.
Salary: £14,000 pro rata
Who we look for
The summer placement scheme is aimed at students expecting a 2:1 minimum degree in a HR related discipline. We will also consider recent graduates for our programme with the view to them starting the graduate programme the following year.
