The Overview

At British Gas, our goal is to look after our customer’s world and put ourselves at the heart of British homes. This role is supporting key partnerships in British Gas. Partnerships are supported by British Gas expertise and systems but delivered to customers in a way that fits with the partner brand and vision. As an Assistant Marketing & Commercial Manager you will be responsible for planning and delivering the marketing plans to drive commercial success of the partnership through key sales channels including DM, email, website and POS.

  • This is a full time 6 month contract role

The Role

  • Responsible for the partnership marketing strategy – develop and implement campaigns where necessary by liaising and briefing external agencies
  • Manage the partnership and ensure we fulfil their requirements
  • Support change across all key channels, including online, inbound and any specific trials
  • Be the Sainsbury’s Energy brand ambassador within British Gas ensuring consistency is achieved across all customer touch points
  • Drive and support the Nectar strategy alongside the British Gas loyalty team
  • Engage with senior stakeholders across the wider partnership team – Pricing, Props, Digital, Inbound and Sainsbury’s
  • Manage the marketing tracker and reconciliation
  • Drive customer insight and own MI performance reporting
  • Support Inbound with concerns and improve the customer experience

The Person

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Resilience, flexibility and adaptability
  • Experience in managing sales and marketing channels, targets and people
  • Experience in project management and being able to navigate complex tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Management and tracking of budgets
  • The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written formats
  • Energy, enthusiasm and a passion for delivering a strong relationship between British Gas and Sainsbury’s
  • Impeccable project management skills
  • Knowledge of the retail marketing
  • Ability to confidently manage multiple stakeholders and negotiate differences of opinion to provide best customer experience
  • Ability to work at pace and to lead on different projects/ campaigns at the same time with a great attention to detail
