Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree qualified (numerate)
  • Advanced Excel
  • Recognized Health & Safety, Environment qualification (NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent) preferred; if not, complete in year 1 of role
  • Basic Programming preferred
  • 3 or more years on IT projects in technical roles involving testing (eg Business Analyst, Tester, Developer)
  • Stakeholder management (egs technical user support, project sponsor / stakeholders, especially in a de-centralized model)
  • 3 or more years working with complex Excel formulae, complex charts and indicators
  • Creating, delivering and maintaining system training material (preferred)
  • SQL or other programming skills (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Actively prioritizes, analyses and identifies root causes and fixes faults; must be a self-organizing, hands-on “doer” competent at understanding & managing high volumes of sometimes complex technical information
  • Translates reported issues that Centrica cannot fix ourselves into concise and technically unambiguous descriptions of faults before reporting to vendor
  • Strong testing skills; identifies appropriate test scenarios and checks new functionality and fixes work as required
  • Quickly builds and retains a detailed technical knowledge how to manage system settings and configuration; must be the system’s technical expert
  • Produces user-friendly, clear and logical system training material, using variety of media including PowerPoint, video, Visio, etc
  • Strong written, oral and presentation communication skills to be used with users, vendor, IS and other stakeholders
  • Works well in a team; results focus; self-starter
