What does it involve?
How would you maximise the potential of our people? Could you meet the strategic challenges we face and ensure we continue to be recognised as a 'Great Place to Work'?
Our HR Programme looks to develop driven, passionate and innovative graduates to become the HR leaders of the future.
Our three-year HR Graduate Programme comprises one 3-month placement attached to a 9-month placement in the same location during which you’ll build your core HR basics. Following this you’ll experience two 12-month placements to continue building you into a solid HR professional. You'll get to work across different parts of the Centrica Group and build a portfolio of skills through a breadth of experiences across a number of HR disciplines:
- Strategic HR business partnering
- Talent management and succession planning
- Learning & development
- Resourcing strategy and projects
- Transformation and Change
- Reward and recognition
- Employee engagement
- Employee relations
Your professional development will be supported by our HR Talent Board. You’ll have opportunities to raise your profile with our HR Directors, business leaders and colleagues. At the start of your second year, we’ll also help you gain your CIPD qualification.
We also meet bi-annually as a stream – getting all of the HR Graduates together to continue sharing best practice, network and ensure that the peer support network is celebrated and utilised. These sessions focus on developing practical ability, with speakers and third parties coming in to provide insight, as well as addressing softer skills if an appetite has been identified.
Responsibility comes fast so your outstanding people skills will need to be complemented by strong analytical skills and the flexibility to perform in a fast-paced environment.
Once you’ve completed the programme, you’ll know how a first-class HR function operates, paving the way for you to deliver change as an innovative strategic HR professional.
Our vast business offers many opportunities, but you’ll need to be flexible about relocating within the UK.
The HR Graduate Programme presents a continuous stretching environment in which no two days are the same; from business partnering senior stakeholders, to managing transformation projects and consultation processes. The support I have been provided throughout has built my competence as an HR professional and given me the confidence that the scheme will develop me into the proficient HR person I want to be- Michael Davis, 2014 HR Graduate
