Gain a wealth of experience
All of our graduate schemes are based on rotations: placements in different areas of the business that last between eight months and one year. You'll be given real responsibility from day one and different objectives to focus on for each placement.
How the schemes are structured
If you join our Business Leadership or Commerical Marketing programme, you'll begin with a 3-month placement at one of our customer contact centres - so you can get to know our customers first-hand. All other streams begin with their first business placement.
You’ll start by gaining a solid foundational knowledge of how our businesses operate. During this time, you will be able to learn from more experienced members of your team how to approach a variety of challenges and business problems.
Placements 2 and 3
Your next two placements are designed to stretch and challenge you. Your on-the-job learning will be enhanced by formal behavioural and technical training and you will gain support from a structured performance management process. As your career aspirations become clearer, we’ll help you to identify possible permanent roles and there may also be opportunities for you to gain further professional qualifications, depending on your stream.
Your support network
It can be a steep learning curve transitioning from the student world to a professional one. However, you will have access to a wide support network throughout the entire programme. You will be supported by:
- your line manager with experience of the area of business in which you are placed
- a graduate 'talent manager' assigned to your business area and responsible for overseeing your performance and development
- a 'buddy' from a previous graduate intake to help you settle in and answer any questions along the way
In addition, we have a number of Health and Wellbeing resources - including personalised advice, practical support and access to treatment if needed for your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
