What attracted you to applying to Centrica?

Two things:
1) I wanted to work for a company that "did something" rather than a financial institution, and
2) I was interested in an energy company that also had other business areas.

Edinburgh, Economics.

A brief career summary

CIMA qualified, various management accounting roles, corporate strategy, 1 year in Belgian subsidiary, offshore wind finance manager, currently commercial manager for renewable gas.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Negotiating with SMEs - working to find compromise between a Centrica's corporate approach to risk and their more entrepreneurial approach.

What has been your biggest achievement?

Securing investment approval on Lincs Windfarm - Centrica's biggest ever capital investment.

What would be your best tip for a new graduate in the organisation?

See as many different bits of the business as you can and use the graduate scheme to try out different roles to broaden your skillset.
