Are you a financial leader of the future? Do you want to learn and apply financial skills in a real economy company where you can make a real difference?
Any business relies on sound financial advice – and the energy sector is no exception. Join us as we invest in business growth and manage our financial future.
As a finance function, we carry responsibilities across the full breadth and depth of Centrica's activity, including the reporting of a FTSE30 company, the analysis for billions of pounds of investment, the governance over 20 million customer accounts, and much, much more.
We set ambitious targets for the quality of the finance function, which is why we are looking for passionate self-starters who can drive integrity, provide the right level of challenge and communicate their ideas. Responsibility comes fast so your analytical mind will need to be complemented by outstanding people skills to build effective networks, whilst having the flexibility to adapt and continually perform in very fast-paced environment.
The Finance programme is for 3 years and comprises three 12-month placements which are designed to encompass the range of financial disciplines as well as business areas within which Centrica operates. During the three years you'll be expected to gain a full financial training and at the same time complete an accounting qualification (the choice of ACA, ACCA or CIMA is yours, and we will fund your courses and give you time off to study). Opportunities for third year placements extend into specialist areas including investor relations and M&A. If you meet the challenge, you should emerge from the three year programme fully qualified, both by examination and experience with the foundation to build yourself a strong future career in finance.
Throughout the programme you can expect to be challenged but supported, both through your studies and your placements, and the finance graduate scheme is supported across the finance function, including at Finance Director level.
If you want a finance career where you can make a big impact, look no further.
The scheme gives me a large amount of responsibility, the decisions I make actually have real world consequences. It also offers great development opportunities, through professional qualifications and role rotation.
