Our four-year accredited Engineer Programme gives graduates all they need to become a well-rounded engineer.

Programme information

Duration: 4 years

Locations: UK-wide

Starting salary: £32,000 plus £3,000 starting bonus

Minimum requirements: A 2.1 Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or C&I); full UK driving licence (to reach remote locations)

Completion of the Engineering summer placement programme is a pre-requisite for this project, Centrica will not be accepting applications for the graduate stream until the Autumn of 2015 for start in September 2016.

What does it involve?

As a leading integrated energy company, Centrica offers the ideal starting point for your career as a Chartered Engineer. We actively develop pioneering, passionate, creative and well-motivated engineers to become integral members of our high-performing team.

We will support and guide you towards chartered status and gaining accreditation with IMechE, IET or IChemE. A Chartered Engineer will be appointed as your technical mentor throughout the scheme, and structure your development based on the requirements of the UK Spec and wider engineering Capability Development Programme.

On the four year programme, there will be a variety of opportunities to undertake placements in some or all of our main business areas including Power Generation, Centrica Energy and Centrica Storage.

As part of a diverse multi-disciplined team responsible for supplying millions of customers, delivering innovation solutions quickly and reliably under pressure becomes second nature. Most of all, you will be encouraged to develop new skills and constantly build on your knowledge on this fascinating, stretching and rewarding scheme.
